We can help with all kinds of dog behaviour problems such as pulling on the lead, guarding, stealing food, aggression, escaping, phobias, and more. This will consist of an initial consultation to observe your dog at home, on a walk and the dog behaviour in question. During the consultation you will be shown techniques to help with the dog behaviour which will also be detailed in a full personalised report. Follow ups will be organised to check on progress and make any necessary changes. I will also be available for additional advice by phone, WhatsApp, and email should anything come up between the consultation and follow up.
The majority of dog bites to children are from a dog known to them, usually a family or friend’s dog. It is important that children know how to behave around dogs to prevent as many bites as possible. These sessions include games that children can safely play with their dogs as well as teaching them how not to behave around dogs. We can also help parents ease the introduction of a new baby to their dog and ways that they can encourage a positive association for the dog so that the baby does not trigger negative responses from the dog.
Have you recently brought home a new puppy or rescue dog? Or does your dog need a little help with basic skills and socialisation? Our dog socialisation starter consultations include demonstrations of handling and some basic dog training skills including sit down & settle. We will also work through some relationship building activities with you and your dog to help strengthen the bond and establish you as someone safe. You will be provided with resources relevant to your dog, some of which include house training, development stages, fears and reactivity issues. There will be recommendations for how to introduce your dog to other dogs, people and different environments they may come across. If you would like further help after the starter dog consultation we can build a schedule of visits which include walks and different scenarios such as a person on a bicycle or traffic cones.
